Staff Sergeant Lucas R. Haas is Pacific Air Forces F-16 Demonstration Team lead crew chief and a Tactical Aircraft Maintenance craftsman at the 14th Fighter Generation Squadron (FGS,) 35th Fighter Wing (FW), Misawa Air Base, Japan.
SSgt. Haas is a 7-level craftsman, responsible for using his maintenance prowess and experience in teaching and overseeing large maintenance operations, effectively ensuring the delivery or Tactical Aircraft sorties day in and day out. He leads a flight of other crew chiefs and maintainers in repairing, troubleshooting, inspecting, and generating combat ready, safe, reliable aircraft.
SSgt. Haas enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in November 2017 out of Boston, Massachusetts. He completed his tactical aircraft maintenance technical school in September 2018, and has since continued learning and perfecting his craft as an F-16 Crew Chief. He has traveled around the United States, and even deployed to the middle east, as well as South America, where his maintenance skills were honed by generating combat sorties, all while building the confidence and flexibility to work in adverse environments.
SSgt. Haas was a part of Operation Freedom Sentinel in Bagram Afghanistan during 2019-2020. Operation Inherent Resolve in Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates during 2021 and Relámpago VI in Colombia, South America. As well as multiple Agile Combat Employment exercises in the CONUS and OCONUS areas.
