Misawa Air Base Celebrates 32nd Annual Air Fest
MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan— Mieko Hayase, completes a transaction with a Japanese National attending the 32nd annual Misawa Air Fest here Sept. 4. Hamburgers, pizzas and cakes were the most sought after items for sale during the air fest. The Japan Air Self-Defense Force and the 35th Fighter Wing, with associated tenant units, hosted more than 100,000 attendees at the fest where visitors saw eight aerial demonstrations with 19 static displays of JASDF, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy aircraft and private operators. Air Fest 2011 also marked the last flight of Miss Veedol, a single engine aircraft that in 1931 flew non-stop across the Pacific Ocean from Sabishiro Beach, Misawa, Japan to Wenatchee, Washington, U.S. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech.
