MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan – Thousands of visitors from across Northern Japan and as far south as Tokyo, wait outside the main gate here for Misawa Air Fest 2011 Sept. 4. The Japan Air Self-Defense Force and the 35th Fighter Wing, with associated tenant units, hosted more than 100,000 attendees at Misawa's annual air fest Sept. 4. Air Fest 2011 was an opportunity for visitors to see eight aerial demonstrations with 19 static displays of JASDF, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy aircraft and private operators.
