MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan --

Dan Rochman, the U.S. Embassy Tokyo minister-counselor of political affairs, toured Misawa Air Base to familiarize himself with the Wild Weasel mission and the Airmen who make it happen, April 14.

The tour provided an opportunity for the Department of Defense to showcase capabilities to the Department of State, both operating within Japan. It included a mission brief, visit to the Misawa Defense Office and tours of base housing and the boiler plant. This was Rochman’s first visit to Misawa as the minister-counselor of political affairs and offered a chance for him to understand Misawa’s role in the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command defense strategy.
