WaFERS overtakes RURK during Prime BEEF Training

U.S. Airman 1st Class Stefan Ali, 35th Civil Engineer Squadron water and fuel system journeyman, sprays a cutting fluid onto the pipe while the Water and Fuel Expedient Repair System (WaFERS) cuts during an annual Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force (Prime BEEF) training at Misawa Air Base, Japan, June 14, 2022. Cutting fluids are used to cool and lubricate the machining region as well as to flush away the chips produced. This process improves the machines surface finish and reduces wear and tear.
