Wild Weasel Walk-through: 610th Air Control Flight

A U.S. Air Force Airman holds a patch displaying the word “Camel” designed for the 610th Air Control Flight (ACF) during a Wild Weasel Walk-through at Misawa Air Base, Japan, April 19, 2022. “Camel” is the tactical call sign used by the 610th ACF. In 1945, the unit decided not to change its call sign after the required 90 days, explaining; when providing navigational aid, pilots needed to have a name that they could remember in an emergency while flying, since there was little time to consult communication charts.
