The family day allowed JASDF and USAF members and their families to be able to watch ground demonstrations and access the Friendship Festival static displays the day before the event opened to the public. Many Airmen and their families help to run booths or volunteer as escorts the day of the Friendship Festival, and the family day allows these families to experience the event as guests rather than workers.
