Dragged for a cause
U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Westly Hales, incoming 35th Fighter Wing chief of advanced programs, demonstrates a parachute drag across Lake Ogawara at Misawa Air Base, Japan, Sept. 20, 2016. Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape specialists teach pilots how to properly and safely release themselves from a parachute being drug by the wind. Undergoing this training every three years is critical to the pilots because it may be the only time they are able to demonstrate these techniques before an emergency situation.
