Prescription glasses frames line the wall of a room in the optometry clinic at the 35th Medical Group at Misawa Air Base, Japan, Jan. 21, 2016. Service members requiring corrective lenses are issued a new pair of heavy duty frames, a pair of metal frames of choice and gas mask inserts annually. Patients are initially screened by ophthalmic specialists and then after a brief stint in a waiting room, the optometric physician finds their prescription and discusses their retinal health or any other symptoms of disorders they may have found.
