Planting trees for a better tomorrow

More than 200 members from Misawa Air Base and the local Japanese community came together to plant approx. 1400 Japanese Black Pine trees during the 2nd Annual Coastal Shore Belt Reconstruction Forest Project near Itsukawame, Japan, Oct. 25, 2014. The local community plants seedlings every year along the coast to replace the ones destroyed in the 2011 tsunami and hope to restore the forest by 2020. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech. Sgt.
