Misawa people participate in Wild Weasel Triathlon
MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Misawa people stop to pose for a photograph after completing Misawa's 4th Annual Wild Weasel Triathlon Aug. 19 here. Forty-five participants swam 500m (20 laps each) at the Himberg Pool; biked 8.5 miles from Himberg pool; ran 3.5 miles from Himberg pool to Fire Station #1 and back, ending at soccer field. Participants competed in three divisions -- masters (men-ages 37 up); open (men-ages 36 down); and female (women-ages 18 up). Winners were: Masters - Yoshiyu Maruyama with 58:05 (JSDF); and the runner-up - Tom Viner with 58:40 (CTF-72); Men's open - Mike Chmielewski with 54:43 (13th Fighter Squadron FS); and the runner-up - Jason Miller with 101:39 (14th Fighter Squadron); Women's Open - Cathy Wu with 59:35, (MSOC); and the runner up - Cris Boswell with 108:25, (family member).
