Misawa Air Base Celebrates 32nd Annual Air Fest
MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan - The Japan Air Self-Defense Force demonstration team "Blue Impulse" performs an aerial maneuver during Misawa's 32nd-annual air fest Sept. 4. Air Fest 2011 was an opportunity for approximately 100,000 attendees to see eight aerial demonstrations with 19 static displays of JASDF, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy aircraft as well as private aircraft operators. Miss Veedol makes commemorative flight over Misawa
MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Miss Veedol, a replica of the 1931 Bellanca Skyrocket J-300, taxis for take-off during the Miss Veedol Flight 80th Anniversary Ceremony held at the Misawa Air and Science Museum Aug. 18. MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Airmen from the 18th Civil Engineer Squadron based out of Kadena Air Base, Japan, load a U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules on the flightline here March 30. The Airmen deployed to Misawa for more than two weeks to help the base recover from the March 11 earthquake which took out power and caused minor facility damage. Misawa completes majority of voluntary departures

Six contracted flights departed Misawa, carrying more than 1,300 family members taking part in a voluntary departure.
