In route to the Australian International Airshow 2013, two F-16 Fighting Falcons, representing Misawa Air Base, Japan, demonstration team, and an F-22 Raptor, representing Langley Air Base, Virginia, demonstration team, fly over Australia behind a KC-135 Stratolifter, from Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan on Feb. 22, 2013. The AIA13, scheduled for Feb. 26 to March 3, is the largest biennial and international trade show in the Pacific. At the airshow, a cross-section of U.S. military aircraft and equipment are scheduled to be present through static displays and aerial demonstrations, including the United States Air Force’s F-22 Raptor, C-17 Globemaster III, F-16 Fighting Falcon, B-52 Stratofortress, and KC-135 Stratotanker. Approximately 220 U.S. service members are supporting the AIA13, which represents a unique opportunity for the United States to showcase its aviation prowess and promote strong military-to-military ties with its’ Pacific friends and allies.
