Wild Weasel of the Week: Senior Airman Steven Nemnich

Each week a member of the 35th Fighter Wing is selected as the Wild Weasel of the Week. This individual is recognized based on superior performance, outstanding work ethic, and overall good conduct and discipline.

The 35th Force Support Squadron chose Senior Airman Steven Nemnich, force management journeyman from Bow, Washington, as its Wild Weasel of the Week.

What's your daily mission:
To ensure system integrity by completing updates for service members' records to ensure their records are correct for promotion boards and other duty-related matters.

What do you enjoy about your job:
I enjoy learning about the many different personnel that allow me to assist customers in a timely manner.

Why did you choose to serve in the military:
I chose to serve in the military to further my education and be a part of something greater than myself. Joining the military was a way to do something for my country I could truly be proud of.

What is your favorite thing about being in Japan:
I love travelling and seeing all sorts of different areas that Japan has to offer. I've always wanted to see Japan after watching "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift," and here I am. I'm a big fan of sports cars and think the car drifting scene in Japan is very cool.

Who is your favorite mentor and what did you learn from him/her:
Staff Sgt. Billiot, my BMT instructor. He taught me the importance of respect and how to integrate it into my everyday routine.

Time in Misawa:
3 years, 1 month

Time in military:
3 years, 5 months

Goals you want to achieve or meet while in Misawa:
I would like to visit Tokyo and learn how to drift cars with the local people at a race track.

"Senior Airman Steven E. Nemnich is a highly enthusiastic Airman, who is currently assigned to the 35th Force Support Squadron, Force Management Section. As a Force Management Journeyman, his primary duties consist of processing and updating AFSCs, decorations and evaluations, which directly impact members' career development. Furthermore, Senior Airman Nemnich constantly displays outstanding customs and courtesies and delivers a top notch customer service to the members of the 35th Fighter Wing.
