The 35th Medical Support Squadron Tech. Sgt. Christine Crawford, war reserve materiel and medical equipment management office NCO in charge, as its Wild Weasel of the Week.

What's your daily mission?
I provide the medical treatment facility with supplies and equipment to take care of the Misawa community.

What do you enjoy about your job?
I enjoy knowing the small things I do can help potentially save a life. I also enjoy the people I work with - we can laugh, joke and take care of business all at the same time. LOGDOGS: "Whatever it takes!"

Why did you choose to serve in the military?
I saw what great opportunities were offered to my father (retired master sergeant) and I also wanted to leave the area where I was living, Detroit.

What is your favorite thing about being in Japan?
The food and festivals.

Who is your favorite mentor and what did you learn from them?
Sergeant Kirkland started off as my supervisor when I first arrived at Misawa. I was convinced he disliked me because he always would put me in situations outside my comfort zone or just give me more "work" as I saw it. It took me a while to realize what he was doing, but he was pushing me not only because he saw potential in me, but also to become a better NCO. I learned to "embrace the suck" and just try my best and set a good example for my Airmen.

Time in Misawa:
2 years

Time in the military:
10 years

What goals do you want to achieve or meet while in Misawa?
Complete my Bachelor's in Business Administration.

Supervisor's remarks:
"Sergeant Crawford is truly a remarkable Airman and someone I'm proud and honored to serve alongside. She's a tremendously talented and hardworking medical logistician and she possesses each and every trait that makes her a true "loggie" at her core. I've personally witnessed her impact here in the medical group and it's inspiring. She has an unrelenting dedication to our patients and the medical group staff we serve daily. She doesn't quit until she's thoroughly solved a problem and the job is done correctly, and she doesn't give up on tough dilemmas until her customers' needs are met. A fantastic leader and mentor to fellow airmen, Sergeant Crawford effortlessly emulates the behaviors and characteristics we all learn about in professional military education. She is a one of a kind Airman." - Capt. Rebecca Powers, 35 MDSS medical logistics flight commander
