New legal assistance office hours Published July 29, 2014 Base Legal Office MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Beginning Aug. 4, 2014, the Misawa Legal Office will now open Monday-Friday at 9 a.m. Walk-in legal assistance hours will be from 9-10 a.m., but other legal matters such as powers of attorney and general questions can be handled anytime between 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Also, during the first Friday of every month the Legal Office will open at 12 p.m. Scheduled appointment times for legal assistance will be from 1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m. every weekday, and accommodations can be provided for those who cannot come in for appointments during that time. The Misawa Legal Office offers a wide range of legal assistance topics ranging from wills, family issues (divorce, marriage, child custody, and child support), Servicemembers Civil Relief Act, immigration, adoption, landlord-tenant, and taxes. The legal staff is also proud to announce that we will soon be hosting a Late Night Legal Assistance program on the second Thursday of every quarter. Beginning on Oct. 9, 2014, the Legal Office will be open for legal assistance for those Airmen and their families that do not hold the traditional work hours, such as swing or mid-shift workers. For these Airmen, once per quarter we will open the legal office from 5-8 p.m. Airmen may call our office to schedule an appointment to come in between those hours for any legal assistance needs they may have. Attorneys will be available during those hours to discuss all legal issues such as wills, family issues, powers of attorney, or various other legal issues that our Airmen may encounter while at Misawa. These hours will be held on the second Thursday of every quarter, with the first being on Oct. 9, 2014. The staff hopes to see you there!
