Hernandez-Domitilo 35th Fighter Wing Public Affairs MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Those who have been to awards ceremonies, banquets or retirements at Misawa Air Base, Japan, are likely to have observed a Base Honor Guard drill team conducting the colors ceremony to start of an event. The Base Honor Guard currently consists of 16 active Airmen who support a range of events throughout Misawa AB and the local community. In 2014, the team supported more than 110 events, including Japan Day, Tops in Blue, and a parade in Hirosaki City. Practicing twice a week, in addition to performing their everyday jobs, the Airmen spend their time together perfecting movements and sequences in preparation for their next detail.
