MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Member of Misawa Community Confirmed with COVID-19
MISAWA AIR BASE – A SOFA member in the Misawa community has tested positive for COVID-19. The current number of active cases at Misawa Air Base is 1.
This person had been in post-travel Restriction of Movement (ROM), and tested positive upon exit ROM testing. The patient is asymptomatic and currently in isolation under medical supervision and all contact tracing has been completed by US military medical providers.
U.S. Forces, Japan continues to require all personnel arriving in Japan to enter ROM at their residence or a US installation for 14 days. The command also remains at a heightened level of alert under a public health emergency, which applies to all personnel.
Actions required by units within USFJ during this elevated health protection status include:
- Limiting or cancelling in-person meetings, training events, formations, large social gatherings, etc.
- Monitoring conditions in areas near U.S. facilities and areas and close coordination with local health officials.
- Encouraging strict hygiene measures, including frequent handwashing and wiping down common surface areas on a regular basis.
- Implementing health screening measures at points of entry onto installations.
- Maintain a close-contact log to improve contact tracing in the event a member becomes ill with COVID-19, and to quickly isolate other potential contacts.

米軍三沢基地関係者の新型コロナウイルス感染確認について
三沢基地―米軍三沢基地関係者１名から新型コロナウイルス感染症の陽性反応が確認されました。現時点で三沢基地における陽性者は１名であります。
当該関係者は移動後課される行動制限下において実施された行動制限解除前検査により陽性が確認されました。当該関係者は無症状であり、現在医療従事者による監督下において隔離されています。また、米軍医療従事者による接触者追跡作業は完了しております。
在日米軍では引き続き全ての関係者に日本到着後、各々の住居または基地内指定の場所における１４日間の行動制限を義務付けています。加えて在日米軍司令部では厳格な警戒態勢かつ全ての関係者に係る公衆衛生非常事態を維持しています。
現在引き上げられている健康保護態勢下において在日米軍各部隊で講じている対策は以下の通りです：
- 対面会議、訓練、隊形、大規模な集会などの制限または中止
- 米軍施設周辺地域における状況の注視及び地元保健機関関係者との緊密な連携
- 頻繁な手洗いや定期的な共有部分の拭き取りを含む厳格な衛生管理を奨励
- 基地入門時における検診の実施
- 新型コロナウイルス感染時における高精度での接触者の洗い出し、そして接触の可能性のあった者に対する迅速な隔離措置を講じるため、濃厚接触記録の継続作成
