Legal Blotter - 1st Qtr 2017 Published May 23, 2017 MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Nonjudicial Punishments (Article 15): The following personnel at Misawa AB were punished under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) in the first quarter of 2017: An Airman Basic from the Civil Engineer Squadron received an Article 15 for being drunk on duty. The 35th CES commander imposed the following punishment: Forfeitures of $799.00 pay per month for two months suspended, restriction to the limits of Misawa Air Base, Japan for 45 days, 45 days extra duty, and a reprimand. An Airman Basic from the Civil Engineer Squadron received a Vacation Action for being drunk on duty. The 35th CES commander imposed the following punishment: Forfeitures of $799.00 pay per month for two months. A Senior Airman from the Communications Squadron received an Article 15 for wrongful use of marijuana. The 35th CS commander imposed the following punishment: Reduction to the grade of Airman First Class, forfeitures of $1,002.00 pay per month for two months suspended, restriction to the limits of Misawa Air Base, Japan for 30 days, and a reprimand. An Airman First Class from the Security Forces Squadron received an Article 15 for disrespecting a superior petty officer, dereliction of duty, and drunk and disorderly. The 35th SFS commander imposed the following punishment: Reduction to the grade of Airman, restriction to the limits of Misawa Air Base, Japan for 30 days, and a reprimand. An Airman First Class from the Security Forces Squadron received an Article 15 for disrespecting a superior petty officer, dereliction of duty, and drunk and disorderly. The 35th SFS commander imposed the following punishment: Reduction to the grade of Airman, restriction to the limits of Misawa Air Base, Japan for 30 days, and a reprimand. An Airman from the Aircraft Maintenance Squadron received an Article 15 for dereliction of duty, damage military to property of a value of less than $500, and drunk and disorderly. The 35th AMXS commander imposed the following punishment: Reduction to the grade of Airman Basic, forfeitures of $250.00 pay per month for two months suspended, and a reprimand. An Airman from the Aircraft Maintenance Squadron received and Article 15 for driving under the influence. The 35th AMXS commander imposed the following punishment: Reduction to the grade of Airman Base, restriction to the limits of Misawa Air Base, Japan, for 60 days, and a reprimand. A Master Sergeant from the Aircraft Maintenance Squadron received an Article 15 for consuming alcohol between the hours of 2400 and 0500, assault consummated by a battery, and drunk and disorderly. The 35th AMXS commander imposed the following punishment: Reduction to the grade of Technical Sergeant suspended, forfeitures of $1,925.00 pay per month for two months, 30 days extra duty, and a reprimand. A Senior Airman from the Air Control Flight received an Article 15 for disrespecting a superior commissioned officer, demonstrate a disrespectful deportment towards a superior noncommissioned officer, violate the Liberty Buddy Policy, and disorderly conduct. The 610th ACF commander imposed the following punishment: Reduction to the grade of Airman First Class suspended and a reprimand. A Senior Airman from the Maintenance Squadron received an Article 15 for not reporting to work at the appointed time. The 35th MXS commander imposed the following punishment: Reduction to the grade of Airman First Class suspended, forfeiture of $122.00 pay, and a reprimand. An Airman First Class from the Force Support Squadron received an Article 15 for sleeping on post as a Security Forces augmentee. The 35th FSS commander imposed the following punishment: Forfeiture of $75.00 pay, 14 days extra duty, and a reprimand. An Airman First Class from the Logistics Readiness Squadron received an Article 15 for assault consummated by battery. The 35th LRS commander imposed the following punishment: Reduction to the grade of Airman suspended, 14 days extra duty, and a reprimand. A Senior Airman from the Medical Support Squadron received an Article 15 for reporting to work late. The 35th MDSS commander imposed the following punishment: Forfeiture of $1,157.00 pay per month for two months suspended, 14 days extra duty, and a reprimand. General Court-Martial: On 17 March 2017, a 24 year old Senior Airman from the 35th Maintenance Squadron, pled guilty in a General Court-Martial of two specifications of misconduct. Specifically, he sent unsolicited pictures of his erect penis to a 14 year girl and a video of himself masturbating to a 15 and 16 year old girl. Additionally, he was found not guilty of two specifications of sexual assault and abusive sexual contact by a panel consisting of officer and enlisted members. He was sentenced to a Bad Conduct Discharge, confinement for 2 years and 6 months, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and reduction to the grade of airman basic.
