Chief Master Sergeant Jason T. Amaxopulos is the Command Chief, 35th Fighter Wing Group, Misawa Air Base, Japan. As the wing’s Senior Enlisted Leader, he is the primary advisor to the commander on all operations concerning operations, readiness, quality of life, and professional development for 11,000 Airmen and their families, including two fighter squadrons, 35 support agencies, and more than 3,000 Japanese personnel. His leadership is essential to eight associate units representing all four services and the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. Chief Amaxopulos serves as the primary communication link between the installation commander and the enlisted community, ensuring understanding and compliance with the commander’s programs and policies. In addition, he advises the commander on important enlisted force issues or concerns and provides critical interface with Japan Air Self-Defense Force senior leadership.
Chief Amaxopulos grew up in Lexington, South Carolina and entered the Air Force in October 2001. He began his career as an Electronic Warfare Systems Technician and retrained into Aerospace and Physiology in 2006. He has held numerous duties to include a four-year tour as a Military Training Instructor. Additionally, he has served tours in the Republic of South Korea, Florida, South Carolina, Texas, Arkansas, and Germany.
Prior to assuming his current position, he served as Senior Enlisted Leader, 49th Mission Support Group, Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico.
