Chief Master Sergeant Jason T. Amaxopulos is the Command Chief, 35th Fighter Wing, Misawa Air Base, Japan. As the Wing’s Senior Enlisted Leader, he is the principal advisor to the commander on the readiness, effective utilization, quality of life, and professional development for 3,000 Airmen and their families. His leadership is vital to the appropriate employment of F-16 and F-35 platforms and supporting infrastructure including two fighter squadrons, and 35 support agencies. Additionally, Chief Amaxopulos advises the commander on enlisted force matters, supports a joint community of 7,000 U.S. service members, and provides a critical bilateral interface with Japan Air Self-Defense Force senior leaders and more than 3,000 Japanese personnel.
Chief Amaxopulos grew up in Lexington, South Carolina and entered the Air Force in October 2001. He began his career as an Electronic Warfare Systems Technician and retrained into Aerospace and Physiology in 2006. He has held numerous duties to include a four-year tour as a Military Training Instructor. Additionally, he has served tours in the Republic of South Korea, Florida, South Carolina, Texas, Arkansas, and Germany.
Prior to assuming his current position, he served as Senior Enlisted Leader, 49th Mission Support Group, Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico.
