Aces of the 35th

Capt Thomas J. Lynch (first row, center) -- the 35th Fighter Wing's all-time, top Ace -- poses with fellow Aces of the 35th Fighter Group during World War II. Lynch scored 20 aerial victories before he was killed-in-action on March 8, 1944 at Aitape Harbor, New Guinea. Lynch remains missing-in-action to this day. (U.S. Air Force historical photo/Released)
