A winding trail of torii gates lies between the Tatayama Inari shrine and the western coast line at Goshogawara, Japan, Aug. 31, 2014. There are more than 200 of these gates in a row and they stand approximately six feet tall. Crossing through a torii gate is said to symbolize the entrance into sacred space.
