Misawa honors defenders during National Police Week

MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Members of the Misawa Honor Guard retire the colors as the commemorative wreath stands during a retreat ceremony May 15, 2009. The ceremony wrapped up National Police Week, which was born from the inspiration of President John F. Kennedy, who signed a proclamation that appointed May 15 as National Peace Officers' Memorial Day and the week of May 15 as National Police Week. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Jamal D.
