Misawa wakes up early to clear the flightline

MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- In the pale morning light, approximately 550 Airmen and Sailors from Misawa Air Base begin clearing the runways and taxiways of debris that could potentially cause foreign-object damage to jets on the flightline as part of the annual FOD walk May 14. The joint-service team collected an estimated 500 pounds of debris in less than an hour, allowing the flightline to resume operations by 7 a.m. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Samuel Morse)
