SERE trains Airmen on water survival

MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Staff Sgt. Benjamin Thomas, 35th Operations Support Squadron survival, evasion, resistance and escape specialist, explains functions of a sea dye marker during the academics portion of water survival training Aug. 12 at the 35th OSS headquarters building. SERE specialists teach one to two classes of water survival training a month during Misawa's summer season. The training is done to keep pilots proficient and current in water survival skills.
