Air Force Col. Van Wimmer, 35th Fighter Wing vice commander, heads a formation of 35 FW service members during an assumption of command ceremony at Misawa Air Base, Japan, Aug. 31. During the ceremony, officiated by Air Force Lt. Gen. Edward A. Rice Jr., commander of U.S. Forces Japan and 5th Air Force, Air Force Col. Michael D. Rothstein became the new commander of installation and the 35th Fighter Wing.
