Col. Michael Rothstein, 35th Fighter Wing commander and Kazumasa Taneichi Misawa City Mayor, cut a ceremonial ribbon during the opening ceremony of the Misawa Air Base walking path Dec. 10, 2010. As a result of coordination between the city of Misawa and the 35 FW, the 35th Civil Engineer Squadron completed a walkway that runs alongside the base perimeter. The project was designed to revitalize the main gate area by reorganizing and integrating the present street layout and provide safe and comfortable environment in the main gate area.
