U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Michael Salas Jr., a fuels distribution supervisor with the 35th Logistics Readiness Squadron from Misawa Air Base, and a Mesquite, Texas-native, monitors a fuel gauge on a fuel truck March 15. Fuel became a precious resource following the earthquake. The fuel truck Sergeant Salas was operating is capable of holding 1,200 gallons of fuel and can refill 20 to 25 generators with one load.
