MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Col. Van Wimmer, left, 35th Fighter Wing vice commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Phillip Easton, right, 35th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, present Master Sgt. Charles Sutherland, 373rd Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance Group, with the trophy for the small squadron winner at the wing sports day here Oct. 7. Master Sgt. Charles Sutherland accepted the trophy on behalf of the Misawa Security Operations Center. The 35th Fighter Wing held a sports day to promote physical fitness, teamwork, competition, sportsmanship and esprit de corps. The day was kicked off with a 3-mile run followed by various sporting events to include relay races, basketball, softball, ultimate frisbee, soccer and a readiness competition.
