U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Grace Enriquez, a communications specialist with Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, received the Navy Expeditionary Warfare Badge at Camp Lemmonier, Djibouti, Sept. 28. The Expeditionary Warfare device, introduced in 2006, is a decoration that awards service members for proficiency in camp expeditionary fundamentals, combat tactics and core Navy knowledge. Enriquez, a native of the Philippines and home-stationed at Misawa Air Base, Japan, is the first Air Force junior enlisted member of CJTF-HOA to earn the EXW badge. Enriquez pursued the qualification in a forward-deployed environment because she believes the EXW badge is an integral part of Navy history and saw earning the warfare device as an opportunity to broaden her knowledge and understanding of Navy traditions.
