A retired F-86 fighter aircraft rests as the U.S. and Japan national flags fly at half staff March 11, 2012 at Misawa Air Base, Japan. The day marks the one-year anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake and subsequent tsunami, which claimed the lives of more than 16,000 people and left more than 3,000 people uncounted for.
