U.S. Navy Master-at-Arms 2nd Class Richard Holman places a wreath, made of red and white flowers, at the base of a flagpole that is flying the Japan national flag at Misawa Air Base, Japan, June 6, 2012. Holman placed the wreath during a moment of silence at the Naval Air facility Misawa Battle of Midway Remembrance Ceremony. This year marks the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Midway, which is often regarded as a critical turning point in the Pacific during World War II.
