VP-8 Takes Part on 2012 Misawa Special Olympics.

Yeaoman 3rd Class James Hughes, a native of San Angelo, Texas, and assigned to the "Fighting Tigers" of Patrol Squadron 8, throws a football to Special Olympian Yuuki Nakagawara, during the 2012 Misawa Special Olympics at Naval Air Facility Misawa, Japan, Sept. 15, 2012. The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. This gives them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympic athletes and the community.
