Firefighters perform pilot egress during ORE

Firefighters from the 35th Civil Engineer Squadron help a pilot egress from an F-16 Fighting Falcon during a rescue training scenario, Dec. 5, 2012, during an Operational Readiness Exercise at Misawa Air Base, Japan. The scenario simulated smoke in the cockpit and an unconscious pilot. A three-man firefighting crew made entry into the Harden Aircraft Shelter to safely remove the pilot from the aircraft.
