Race to the F-15J
Koku-Jieitai pilots race to two Mitsubishi F-15J Eagles during a scramble demonstration as part of a 10-day U.S.-Japan Bilateral Career Training at Chitose Air Base, Japan, April 14, 2017. The scramble showcased the 2nd Air Wing’s response capability to outside threats as the installation responds to incursions into Japanese airspace every week. The F-15Js offer the Koku-Jieitai a twin-engine, all-weather air superiority fighter based on the U.S. Air Force’s McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle.
