U.S. Air Force Tech Sgt. Antonio Manson, a 35th Maintenance Squadron aerospace propulsion craftsman, tends to an oil leak on an F-16 Fighting Falcon during VIGILANT ACE 18 at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, Dec. 6, 2017. VIGILANT ACE is an annual flying exercise, encompassing more than 12,000 personnel on the Korean Peninsula. Up, up and away
Twelve U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcons, assigned to the 35th Fighter Wing, taxi and take off at Misawa Air Base, Japan, Sept. 21, 2017. In addition to the 12 F-16s, U.S. Navy EA-18Gs pilots, assigned to the “Garudas” Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 134, flew with the 13 and 14th Fighter Squadron, to enhance readiness and understanding of how the two airframes operate hand-in-hand during real-world missions. The VAQ-134 is currently deployed to Misawa AB from Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington, as part of a six-month Theater Security Package, which is designed to enhance regional security in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. The Japan Air Self-Defense Force Blue Impulse assigned to the 4th Air Wing, 11th Squadron from Matsushima Air Base, Japan fly upside down during the Pacific Partners Air Festival at Misawa Air Base, Japan, Sept. 10, 2017. The rainfall consists of five Kawasaki T-4 planes that descend vertically and bloom in their own respective directions. This is an acrobatic flight that shows smoke trails spreading out in five different directions. USAF historical aircraft
An F-86F Sabre displays its tail number and a "USAF" marking in Risner Circle at Misawa Air Base, Japan, Dec. 18, 2018. The aircraft could climb 6,000 ft per minute and reached a maximum speed of 690 mph. The model began production in 1952, and both U.S. Air Force and Japan Air Self-Defense Force units at Misawa AB utilized the aircraft until 1979, downing 818 MIGs during the Korean War. USAF tug of war team pulls into a win
The U.S. Air Force team, comprised of Airmen with the 35th Maintenance Squadron aerospace propulsions shop, competes during the 15th Annual Northern Air Defense Force Commander’s Cup tug of war event, at Misawa Air Base, Japan, Oct. 22, 2016.
