AGE pumps air for Air Power
MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Senior Airman Cody Weber, 35th Maintenance Squadron aerospace ground equipment flight dispatch driver, calibrates a nitrogen concentration sensor on a self-generating nitrogen servicing cart outside the AGE flight maintenance shop June 18. The tires of the F-16 Fighting Falcon heat rapidly during landing, which could cause normal air to expand violently and blow-out the tires. By filtering air into almost pure nitrogen first, the cart minimizes the expansion effect, keeping jets safe. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Samuel Morse)
