MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Col. T.J. O'Shaughnessy, 35th Fighter Wing commander, receives the annual Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) contribution check from Anna Iosefo, general manager of Misawa Exchange, June 19, 2008. This year, Misawa received almost $1.5 million, an increase of four percent from last year. "Roughly two-thirds of the Army and Air Force Exchange Services earnings are paid to MWR programs. In the past 10 years, $2.4 billion has been contributed by AAFES to military MWR programs to spend on quality of life improvements, including youth services, Armed Forces Recreation Centers, arts and crafts, aquatic centers, post functions and golf courses," said Ms. Iosefo.
