We need home support to do our mission well Published Feb. 20, 2007 By Col. T.J. O'Shaughnessy 35th Fighter Wing commander MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- We currently have Airmen deployed around the world fighting and winning the Global War on Terrorism, as well as Airmen here at Misawa preparing for an Operational Readiness Inspection and deployments this spring. I'd like to take some time out to say thank you to the family members who are here holding down the fort while your spouse or parent is getting the expeditionary mission accomplished. Whether your spouse is here pulling long shifts filling in the gaps of those deployed or they're deployed downrange, we know that without you we would not be able to get the mission done as well as we do. So while our pilots, maintainers and support crew are hard at work getting the job done in the desert, and Airmen are here preparing for a successful ORI, I want you to know we appreciate the vital part you play. Thank you team Misawa for all you do while deployed or at home station. And most importantly, I want to thank the families for making it possible for all of us to focus on the mission. Your contributions are greatly appreciated.
