American Day needs volunteers Published May 13, 2007 By Col. Joel Malone 35th Fighter Wing public affairs MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- One of the things that makes Misawa great is the fantastic relationship we enjoy with our Japanese friends and neighbors. In April, our Japanese hosts graciously showed us some of the unique aspects of their culture during Japan day. Now it's our turn to show them our diverse culture during the 19th annual American Day celebration set for June 2nd and 3rd. The American Day committee is looking for people who are interested in volunteering to help with this year's celebration. If you're interested in being a volunteer and want to make a difference in your community, call Capt. Jason Deson at 226-4022. American day is more than just a celebration of our culture-it's an opportunity to give back to the Misawa Community. The citizens of Misawa have been, and continue to be, wonderful friends and supporters, so I think it's important for us to show our appreciation for the excellent relationship We enjoy. This is your chance to participate in a truly cultural experience. Thanks, I look forward to seeing you there.
