Deployments: keeping Airmen, families in our prayers Published Aug. 19, 2007 By Col. T.J. O'Shaughnessy & Col. Mark Burns 35th Fighter Wing commander & 35th Mission Support Group commander MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Many of our Airmen have deployed to ensure the safety of our nation and its citizens. In addition to the 13th fighter squadron, Airmen from maintenance, security forces and the logistics readiness squadrons are also deployed. Some of these Airmen recently returned home and in September we'll see the end of another AEF rotation. For some it was a long haul, like our security forces airmen who worked with the army and were extended in the aor. Although they've honorably answered our nation's call, I know they're happy to be home. Spouses, we know that you have probably faced many challenges because of these deployments. It is because of your strength that our Airmen can deploy and defend our country. We appreciate what you do. Team Misawa, let's continue to look for opportunities to lend a hand to the spouses and families of those who are deployed. A few kind words of support or a small gesture may be all they need to get through a tough day. Let's keep all our deployed members and their families in our thoughts and prayers. Thanks, Team Misawa.
