Wing commander sends Misawa holiday message Published Dec. 20, 2007 By Col. Terrence O'Shaughnessy 35th Fighter Wing commander MISAW AIR BASE -- Japan -- During the holiday season it's easy to become caught up in the hustle and bustle forgetting about those who work beside us day in and day out - especially those without a spouse or children at home. As we enjoy this holiday season, let's remember that our family extends far beyond those who live in our homes or share our bloodlines. Here at Misawa we pride ourselves on our family atmosphere. There are many ways we can show we care, like reaching out to those who may not already have plans, by participating in the outstanding activities Misawa has to offer, like ITT trips, skiing, Christmas dinner at the dining facility and by making the most out of our quality time with friends and family. Recently my family was visited by a group of Christmas carolers and it really lifted out family spirits. That's one example of how a small gesture can go a long way to making people feel good throughout the holiday season. Keep up the great work looking out for one another and being good wingmen. I wish you all a very safe and relaxing holiday. Happy holidays Team Misawa!
