As Airmen we all go the extra mile to ensure our personal and professional lives are in order. Being on solid financial footing is one very important step in the right direction.

You can start by taking advantage of the Thrift Savings Plan, or TSP, which is a long-term retirement savings plan with an eye toward helping you reach your financial goals. Through TSP, your investment money is automatically deposited, before being taxed, through payroll deduction - so you don't even see it coming out of your paycheck.

You can contribute as little as one dollar per pay period. Even small savings add up over time.

Misawa's Airman and Family Readiness Center offers a wealth of information to educate you on debt management, savings and budget plans and investment basics. To sign up for a class, call 226-4735.

Remember, devoting time and attention to your finances now is an investment toward giving you and your family a better financial future. Start being financially responsible today by taking advantage of the benefits our Air Force has to offer. Thank you for all you do Team Misawa!
