This is a great time of year: the snow is gone, spring is here and with that comes a chance to get outside to enjoy several exciting and fun events.

Spring brings good weather to Misawa and the cherry blossoms will be in bloom on base and around the area soon. That means it's also a good time to get rid of that winter weight and work at getting back in shape. Whether it's running, weightlifting, cycling, or golf, get outdoors and have fun. If you bicycle, rollerblade, or skateboard, please wear a helmet. If you see someone without a helmet, please remind them of the rules.

Take advantage of the great festivals, starting with Japan Day on April 5th at Edgren High School. Japan day is a cultural experience for the entire family. Artisans from all over Japan will be on hand to show their crafts, immerse you in their culture, and even entertain you with live demonstrations.

I look forward to seeing all of you out and about this spring. Remember to be safe, be active and enjoy your time here in northern Japan. Thank you for all you do Team Misawa!
