Franklin, 35th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, was convicted of insubordination and dereliction of duty by culpable inefficiency. The court officer sentenced Franklin to 30 days confinement and forfeiture of $1,010 for one month. As he approached the end of his 12-hour shift, he was instructed by an NCO to complete his assignments prior to going home. Franklin repeatedly ignored and refused to acknowledge his NCO, then used inappropriate and threatening language to him. As his supervision stepped in and began escorting Franklin out of the building, he threw his belongings and charged the NCO. At this point, he was restrained and removed from the building.
