Wild Weasel of the Week: Tech. Sgt. Christopher Whitmore

Each week a member of the 35th Fighter Wing is selected as the Wild Weasel of the Week. This individual is recognized based on superior performance, outstanding work ethic, and overall good conduct and discipline.

The 35th Maintenance Squadron chose Tech. Sgt. Christopher A. Whitmore, a unit deployment manager from Braceville, Ohio, as its Wild Weasel of the Week.

What's your daily mission?
I manage deployments, temporary duties and exercises for the 35th Maintenance Squadron.

What do you enjoy about your job?
I get to work with a lot of different base agencies and have gotten to know a lot of new people throughout the 35th Fighter Wing.

Why did you choose to serve in the military?
I wanted to travel and live overseas.

Who is your favorite mentor and what did you learn from him/her:
My Dad. Growing up on a farm he taught me what hard work really is.

Greatest accomplishment:
Meeting my wife, Maricel, and having our two girls, Samara and Saige.

Goals you want to achieve or meet while in Misawa:
I would like to make the rank of master sergeant and then apply to be a first sergeant.

Hobbies:
Playing cards and putting together puzzles.

Dream duty station and why:
Spangdahlem Air Base; I want to be able to travel throughout Europe and see how many countries I can visit.

Favorite movies:
Braveheart, The Lost Battalion, Tora Tora Tora, Saving Private Ryan, and Patton.

If you could spend one hour with any person, who would it be and why:
George Patton. I have been interested in him ever since I saw George C. Scott play him in the movie Patton.

"Tech. Sgt. Whitmore is one of our unit's unsung heroes. Many Air Force members do not realize the dedication and overall skill set that is required to deploy war fighting assets.
