The Airman and Family Readiness Center will offer financial education classes Feb. 24  to March 1 in support of Military Saves Week.

Since 2003, MSW has served as an annual Department of Defense financial readiness annual campaign to increase awareness of financial wellness.

"At Misawa, this campaign provides an opportunity for leaders at all levels to promote and reinforce healthy financial habits for service members and their family members by creating an awareness of the importance in saving to help them reach their financial and personal goals," said Walter Anderson, Airman and Family Readiness Center community readiness consultant.

The week's classes include:

Before You Take Off: Financial Planning for Deployment (Monday 5-6 p.m.)
Dream Big Plan Now: Making Your Ideal Retirement a Reality (Tuesday 5-6 p.m.)
Stretching My Money in a Tight Economy (Wednesday 5-6 p.m.)
Thrift Savings Plan (Thursday 5-6 p.m.)
You've Earned It: Making the Most of Your Military Benefits (Friday 1-2 p.m.)

"Education and awareness is essential to leading our personnel to financial wellness," Anderson said. "The Airman and Family Readiness Center, in collaboration with Community Bank and Navy Federal Credit Union, are offering to travel to units to provide financial education."

These individual course offerings are in addition to the group counselings available at the AFRC.
