Each week a member of the 35th Fighter Wing is selected as the Wild Weasel of the Week. This individual is recognized based on superior performance, outstanding work ethic, and overall good conduct and discipline.

The14th Aircraft Maintenance Unit chose Airman 1st Class Brandon L. Gettle, mission support and supply technician, from Lebanon, Pa., as its Wild Weasel of the Week.

What's your daily mission?
Provide customer support to the aircraft maintenance units: issue critical air-conditioning parts, process inquiries, and oversee bench stock parts

What do you enjoy about your job?
The people I work with set a good atmosphere, making the job easier and the days go by faster.

Why did you choose to serve in the military?
For a stable job career, travel the world and get an education.

Who is your favorite mentor and what did you learn from him/her?
My father taught me to always show respect toward others and listen to what they have to say. He also taught me that life can change in the blink of an eye, so make my decisions wisely to avoid regrets later.

Time in Misawa: 
14 months

Greatest accomplishment:
Some of my greatest accomplishments include climbing Mt. Fuji and getting to see Japan.

Goals you want to achieve or meet while in Misawa:
Airman Below the Zone (BTZ) and getting my Community College of the Air Force degree

Hobbies:
Baseball, snowboarding, bowling, and hanging out with friends

Dream duty station and why:
Ramstein Air Base, Germany. I would love to get station in Germany to experience a new culture and travel around the surrounding locations.

Favorite movies:
Fast and Furious series, Ted, Black Hawk Down

If you could spend one hour with any person, who would it be and why:
My father. If it wasn't for my father, I wouldn't be where I am today or accomplished some of the things I have. He's always there for support, encouraging me to keep my head up, and strive to achieve my goals in life.

He completes all daily tasks in a timely manner and gives 100 percent excellent customer service without a question or doubt. His eagerness and willingness to learn and accept new challenges is what makes him stand out among his peers. He has been praised by leadership on several occasions for his professionalism and ability to get the job done. Gettle exemplifies the Air Force core value 'excellence in all we do.'"
