While responding to a simulated fuel leak during Phase II of an Operational Readiness Exercise, members from the 35th Civil Engineer Squadron fire department encountered an explosion, resulting in several firefighter casualties.

Once the attack is over and the order "Limited release" is given, Airmen from the 35th Logistic Readiness Squadron Post-Attack Reconnaissance team sweep the perimeter of their facility for injuries and damage.

After identifying the causalities, the PAR team notifies emergency response units and continues clearing.

Within moments, two fire trucks arrive to extinguish the fire and transfer fallen Airmen to mortuary affairs to simulate further paperwork and begin the notification process.

The training provided to 35th Fighter Wing Airmen during an ORE is designed to test their response capabilities during wartime scenarios.
