Each week a member of the 35th Fighter Wing is selected as the Wild Weasel of the Week. This individual is recognized based on superior performance, outstanding work ethic, and overall good conduct and discipline.

The 35th Maintenance Squadron chose Airman 1st Class Cory Klosterman, Munitions Flight, from West Milton, Ohio, as its Wild Weasel of the Week.

What's your daily mission:
I organize and maintain Misawa Air Base's $261 million munitions stockpile and deliver munitions and their associated components for build-up and maintenance.

What do you enjoy about your job:
I love coming into work every day knowing my job is vital to not only the mission of Misawa, but to the Air Force as a whole. I also love being able to work with all kinds of different explosives and munitions support equipment -- it gives my job a very rewarding feeling.

Why did you choose to serve in the military:
Both of my grandfathers and my father served in the U.S Air Force, and I wanted to follow in their footsteps. Growing up, I also always wanted to be able to give back to the country that I lived in, so being able to get the opportunity to serve has been a long time dream.

What is your favorite thing about being in Japan?
My favorite part about being in Japan is having the opportunity to travel the beautiful country, learning the culture and adapting to their way of life.

Who is your favorite mentor and what did you learn from him/her:
My father: He is the man who inspired and molded me to be the man I am today. He has taught me valuable skills in life to be successful and a hard worker. I could turn to him if I ever needed anything and he would do whatever it took to help me.

Time in Misawa:
7 Months

Time in military:
1 year

Goals you want to achieve or meet while in Misawa:
My biggest goal while stationed at Misawa is to learn to speak Japanese. I also want to travel the country and attend all of the festivals at least one time each.

Supervisor's remarks:
"When Airman Klosterman first arrived at Misawa, I challenged him to stay low and let his work do the talking for him, and over the past seven months, he's already managed to speak volumes about himself. He possesses a near limitless energy when performing his duties and is hungry to challenge himself with new responsibility on a daily basis. I'm incredibly proud to have him represent ammo as a Wild Weasel of the Week." - Senior Airman Loren Williamson, 35th Maintenance Squadron munitions storage crew chief.
